Suitable sized, Finland’s most spontaneous and individual little big Metal event Dark River Festival takes place 8.-10.8.2024 in Kotka Finland. 8 out of 25 next summer’s bands are revealed today, and more to be announced already at beginning of the year. Year after year breaking it’s own attendance records and fascinating with wide variety of metal genres, the festival again invites all the headbangers to the woods of Honkala for a summer’s end celebration like no other. Festival’s development & moderate growth continues, but we are not planning to lose any of that Heartwarming Atmosphere Dark River is known for.

The first group of DRF2024 -bands is now released. According to them and the rest of the line-up we listened carefully what bands You want to witness at Kotka next summer! More bands to be announced already in the beginning of next year!
Dark River Festival 2024’s line-up has been built with Blood and Sweat, so We Metal enthusiasts could offer best possible line-up for You Metal enthusiasts. Dark River Festival is especially community event, and it means everything to Us to serve You as good as any way possible with the resources of a little festival.
Of course, the line-up includes all-time favorites and genre legends, but most importantly metal bands loved by The Metal Fans, that haven’t visited Finland nor Kotka that often, if ever! Those who know, do Know, that Kotka is a place to be next august, and You shouldn’t hesitate to grab those tickets while You still can.
Among the first bands: Bay Area Thrash Metal legend Exodus led by none other than Gary Holt also known for his collaboration with Slayer (RIP), Symphonic black metal band Carach Angren, who took the number one spot on the Finnish Official Chart with their latest album, spectacular comeback story Children Of Bodom -keyboardist Janne Wirman’s Warmen enforced by Ensiferum -screamer Petri Lindroos, Melodic death metal group Marianas Rest, who achieved critical and chart success with their fourth album last spring, melancholic doom metal fan favorite Kaunis Kuolematon, bourgeois-core quartet Bob Malmstörm, who persistently favors right-wing values and has wrenched the rights of the poor for almost fifteen years, pagan black metal’s hottest cult band Havukruunu and melody frosted death metal group Suotana forging winter in the middle of the summer.
