Dark River Festival, going strong for twenty years amidst the forest scenery, is back and for the first time ever, it’s happening in July!
Perfectly sized, Finland’s most independent and unique small-yet-mighty metal festival Dark River Festival will take place in Kotka from July 10 to 12, 2025.
In addition to already announced top bands synch as Stam1na, Rotting Christ, Swallow The Sun, Finntroll, Amoral, Wolfheart, In Mourning, The Man-Eating Tree and many others, next July´s thursday headliner in Kotka will be Canada´s Unleash the Archers, led by multi-talented vocalist Britney Slayes. Also performing are German Xandria, praised for their diverse compositions and powerful orchestral elements, Dutch black metal favorite Carach Angren, known for their dramatic and cinematic songwriting (after cancelling their show last summer), Estonian folk metal icon Metsatöll with their folkloric melodies and rhythms, and melodic death metal group kalmah, who will perform their only finnish show of the summer with a special “swampsong” theme.
And that’s not all – in total, 29 top-tier acts from Finland and abroad will take the stage at next summer’s event!
Year after year, this charming festival, beloved for its warm atmosphere and colorful lineup, invites fans of heavy music to the woods of Honkala to celebrate Finland’s most heartfelt heavy metal gathering. The event continues to develop and grow modestly, without losing a shred of its unique charm.
