The Dark River Festival, celebrated in the forest for over twenty years, will be held again next year in July! Finland’s most original and personal little big metal festival Dark River Festival is coming again, and it will take place in Kotka, Finland on 10-12 July 2025.
In addition to the already announced Stam1na, My Dying Bride, Unleash The Archers, Rotting Christ, Xandria, Carach Angren, Swallow The Sun, Finntroll, Amoral, Wolfheart, In Mourning, Kalmah, The Man-Eating Tree and many more top bands will be performing in Kotka next July:
Modern melodic death metal superstar Parasite Inc. from Germany, who have been chart-topping in their home country on each of their three albums, will arrive in Finland for only the second time, now for the exclusive Dark River Festival in summer 2025.

To/Die/For, who received a rapturous reception on their Mexican tour last spring, and who have been melting hearts with their melodic gothic rock for almost thirty years before that, having played few gigs in recent years. The band, which lost original singer Jape Perätalo at the end of the year, will take to the Dark River stage under the direction of new soloist Sanna Solanterä.
T.Jarva & The Dark Place, Taneli Jarva’s dark and acoustic alternative-cantrique band known for their Sentenced and The Black League connections, whose debut album Post Festum, released last year, garnered praise in the music media here and abroad.
The pagan metal artist Vermilia, whose third full-length album Karsikko was released on Friday last week and who has gone her own way, at the latest since her version of the Finnish classic Nocturne, has come under the radar of a wider audience.
Swiss-born but since “Finnishised” melodic death metal band As The Sun Falls, whose music, often compared to Insomnium, combines northern melancholy, catchy choruses and thundering guitar riffs.
